The next series I’m blogging on is called Jane Blonde (female equivalent of James Bond) and is all about a pretty normal girl who discovers she is actually a spylet and is working for her Uncle’s organisation, SPI (Solomon’s Polificational Investigations). Janey Brown’s life is about to change forever…. (buy the book here)
Janey Brown leads a normal life, but she feels like she really doesn’t fit in at her new school. She has no friends and people write nasty notes about her. One horrible afternoon, her PE kit is melted and smothered in treacle, and the day is made worse when she suddenly meets a crazy old lady who loves rapping and wears brightly coloured and crazy clothes. She insists that she is Janey’s godmother and Janey’s mum has been captured and is about to be thrown off the roof of a bank. This is quite a lot to take in for a girl whose day has just been ruined and is terribly distraught. But when her mother does not turn up at the school gates, Janey wonders whether that mad woman may be right. This is the start of her amazing adventures as Jane Blonde – Sensational Spylet….
Jane Blonde is an action packed, fun kid’s novel full of ridiculous adventures, and a lot of puns. I mean A LOT. This book is great for children of all ages. I read the second one a few years ago and asked my mum if I could have the whole set for my 12th birthday. So look out for a few more posts on Jane Blonde – Sensational Spylet, because you won’t want to miss her adventures! I love the way all the pieces of the puzzle fit together at the end of the book, and all is revealed about the baddies…. You gotta read the book to find out!
